 Redefining the art of travel

1 note

A traveller’s problem!

Before beginning, plan carefully.
 - Marcus Tulius Cicero, Roman statesman and orator.

Yes, we all know how planning ahead can make life easier, but when it comes to planning travel, what do we do? Where do we go? Being a frequent traveller, I myself have faced this problem a lot.

Recently, I met a budding photographer and a friend, Raghvendra, who travels a lot. This is what he had to say:-

“Photography as a hobby, makes you travel a lot in search of new places to shoot. As much as it sounds thrilling and is often a great experience, it does come with its own share of pain. I normally tend to spend 2-3 days at places where I visit, so as to capture as many destinations as possible, but that is what makes things difficult. There is no plan beforehand as to what places should I be capturing. I tried taking tour guides, initially, but soon realized that was not the thing for me. They used to have one-size-fits-all package that did not suit me well. Nowadays, I try to find information on the internet before leaving. It seems to work better, although later on if I find some place that I missed due to lack of knowledge, it saddens me. Worst part is there is nothing I can do about it.”

(I could not thank Raghav more for sharing his experiences with us. You can find his stream here.)

Exploring internet to find all the information needed can be a lot for people like you and me and Raghav who are otherwise busy with their lives. What we are missing is an online application where we can explore places, get suggestions, plan our trips along our interests and be sure that nothing is missed out and that our vacation is well spent.

We, at Traverik.com, understand the pain of unplanned travel and are committed to solving this problem. We are working on it and I hope when we launch, Traverik  takes the pain out of travel planning.

I will keep you posted on the development work and will be back with some more interesting stories.
